The Biggest Secret to Blogging.

You’ve already heard it so why aren’t you doing it?

There are many secrets to building a successful blog. Many can be found in eBooks or at Amazon, but the biggest secret isn’t a secret at all. Unzip any eBook and it’s usually in the very first sentence and it’s dismissed for information which seems more relevant. The problem is if you forget the first secret, the rest is irrelevant – YOU MUST OFFER SOMETHING OF VALUE to your readers. You must search for their problems, then you must fix those problems.

I’m a stay at home mom of small children, I don’t have a lot of spare time, I haven’t seen the inside of the bathroom without “company” in 5 years. Why should I visit your blog? What are you giving me?

Now of course you can’t be all things to all people, that wouldn’t be productive. If you are building a male dominated SciFi site, I’m probably the last person on your mind – naturally. But if you are a mommy blogger, what are you doing to attract ME? What are you doing to keep me coming back? What can you sell me that will make my life easier? What information can you give me that will make my life easier, my kids smarter, tips for makeup in 30 seconds.

Do you get it? I’m not staying up at night worrying about my scarpbooking, I’m worrying about pre-schools, mold, and carpooling. What do are you going to offer me that will make me want to come back to YOUR blog day after day, in the precious few free minutes I have online?

If you can figure that one out you’ll have a successful blog.
